6 reasons to do core work (that's not "trimming your waistline")

(not interested in the Core Work? Scroll down a bit so you can opt-out of these Healthy Core specific promotional emails)

Hey Reader,

When it comes to core work, the most frequently shared "benefit" has to do with how you can trim or tone or sculpt or shape your belly.

And honestly, that is the least valuable, least interesting benefit of core work.

Because (spoiler alert): you can't actually spot reduce or trim areas of your body. You can build muscle through targeted strength training, but targeted reduction isn't actually a thing.

Here are a few real benefits that are far more useful than "toning your tummy":

✔️ Improve balance and stability.
✔️ Help relieve and reduce low back discomfort.
✔️ Benefit all other strength and mobility work you do
✔️ Improve whole body coordination
✔️ Change your posture
✔️ Increase your confidence
✔️ Help you move with more power
✔️ Give you a greater feeling of connectedness

Plus, when you're doing core work that is not just monotonous mountain climbers or sit-ups or or crunches, core work can actually be fun.

I mean, why bother to do it if it's not also fun?

If you want to approach core work from a place of fun and with the goal of getting stronger, rather than “trimmed”, join me in Movement for a Healthy Core.
You’ll get daily core classes that are quick (10-15 minutes) and none of them require any weight-bearing on your hands (bonus!).

As one past student said:
"I did Week 1: Balance Core today and it revolutionized Warrior 3 for me. I’ve always had a hard time for it, and engaging the core in this way you instructed made it easier, more interesting, and more enjoyable for me. Whoa!"

If this sounds like your kind of fun, make sure to sign up ASAP. We officially begin on Wednesday, May 1st and if you like starting things at the beginning of a month, make sure to save your spot ASAP!

I will hold the cart open through Saturday, May 4th for those who like to get started at the beginning of the week instead.

However, once the cart closes, this program won't be available again until 2025.

If you know you're 100% ready to get started on the Movement for a Healthy Core program, take a look at the 3 pricing options to support a variety of budgets.

If you want a little more info, you can click here to see the full webpage or email me directly!

Feel free to reach out and ask me any questions you might have. I promise to answer honestly and tell you whether or not this program is right for you.

I look forward to getting healthier and stronger with you this spring!

Warmly,

Naomi

I combine playful, powerful movement practices with the science of habit change to make it easier for busy moms to get moving every day. I frequently write about the intersection of mom life, feminism, diet culture, and the unrealistic standards we hold ourselves to as women. I am passionate about helping moms move more freely in their bodies and feel more at home in their skin.
